Goliad has gone 7-1 against Karnes City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Goliad Tigers will square off against the Karnes City Badgers at 5:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Goliad came up short against Poth and fell 33-26. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1014th, while the Pirates are ranked 420th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Karnes City). They were the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over Luling on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Badgers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Goliad's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-15. As for Karnes City, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-13.

Goliad was able to grind out a solid victory over Karnes City in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 38-28. Will Goliad repeat their success, or does Karnes City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
