Football Game Preview: Gibraltar Vikings vs. Suring Eagles

The Gibraltar Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Suring Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Suring took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gibraltar, who comes in off a win.

Gibraltar took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past Gillett to the tune of 52-14. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Suring faced Lena/Aquinas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles were beaten by the Titians 36-6. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Suring's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Gibraltar, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.

Gibraltar was dealt a bruising 42-6 loss at the hands of Suring in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
