Softball Game Preview: Central Christian Comets vs. Crestline Bulldogs

For the first time this season, Central Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Crestline Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Central Christian after they put the first runs on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 9-5 to Rittman.

Micah Kozel Steiner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Edisa Plants was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Crestline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-1 to Lucas.

Central Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Crestline, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
