Baseball Game Preview: Emerald Ridge Jaguars vs. Olympia Bears

Emerald Ridge hasn't had much luck against Olympia recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Bears at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Emerald Ridge 3.8, Olympia 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Emerald Ridge managed to slip by Sumner the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Jaguars came up short against the Spartans on Wednesday, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Jaguars have suffered since March 12th.

Meanwhile, while Olympia put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Graham-Kapowsin. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Eagles 1-0. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one run.

Olympia is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Emerald Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Emerald Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Olympia when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
