Football Recap: Union Takes a Loss

The Union Spartans came up short against the East Columbus Gators on Thursday and fell 24-12. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from Tobias Cromartie, who rushed for 141 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 34 receiving yards.

Dawson Crosby had a dynamite game For East Columbus., rushing for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Those 154 rushing yards gave Crosby a new career-high.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 2-3. As for East Columbus, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Union is set to take on their familiar foe Hobbton at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Cromartie and Amir Tate. Meanwhile, East Columbus will face off against rival West Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
