Football Recap: Tunkhannock Comes Up Short on the Road Against Lackawanna Trail

Tunkhannock kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 35-21 bruising from the Lackawanna Trail Lions. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Lions are ranked 240th).

When it comes to explaining why Tunkhannock lost, don't look at Andrew Lupinski. Despite the final result, he rushed for 140 yards and three scores on only 11 carries.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tunkhannock will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Holy Redeemer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lackawanna Trail, they will face off against Western Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
