Basketball Recap: Atlantic Christian Takes a Loss

Atlantic Christian suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Doane Academy and fell 78-40. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Doane Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Atlantic Christian lost, don't look at Zion Dawkins. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Settles, who posted seven points.

Atlantic Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Doane Academy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Atlantic Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Veritas Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Doane Academy, they will host Florence Township Memorial at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
