Football Recap: Sameeyah Cooper Key Part of Team Effort in Bolts Win

Ridge Community owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They blew past the Lake Region Thunder 25-0. The result was nothing new for the Bolts, who have now won five matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

Ridge Community's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sameeyah Cooper, who picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Cooper has posted since back in February. Gabriela Gomez was another key passer, throwing for 120 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of her passes.

The win made it two in a row for Ridge Community and bumps their season record up to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points in those games. As for Lake Region, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Ridge Community will venture away from home to square off against Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Bolts surely won't give up without a fight. Lake Region does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
