Softball Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 18-4 to the Kent City Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-3 loss on Wednesday.

Katelyn Buchner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Breanna Castle also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Lakeview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Kent City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeview will challenge Morley Stanwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kent City, they will square off against Shelby at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
