Softball Recap: Lasalle-Peru Has No Trouble Against Streator

It's playoff time, and LaSalle-Peru had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Streator Bulldogs 9-0 on Tuesday. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Streator's batters probably weren't too happy with Taylor Vescogni, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up three walks).

On the hitting side, Karmen Piano was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Steinbach, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for LaSalle-Peru and bumps their season record up to 30-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Streator, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 20 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-24 record this season.

As of now, neither LaSalle-Peru nor Streator have any future games scheduled.
