Softball Recap: McComb Comes Up Short

McComb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Leipsic Vikings. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 14-3.

Hannah Sherick and Dakota Shellenberger stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sherick went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Shellenberger went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

McComb's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Leipsic, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Coming up, McComb will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Hardin Northern at 5:00 p.m. Leipsic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
