First Coast's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 35-25 win over the Sandalwood Saints. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Buccaneers considering their 13-point performance the game before.

First Coast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Pollard led the charge by picking up 69 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Pollard showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 52 yards.

Another reason for the win was First Coast's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Ronnie Williams Jr was the leader with two. Zach Sandell was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles.

First Coast's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Sandalwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

First Coast and Sandalwood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Buccaneers will square off against Oakleaf at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (168 vs. 32). Meanwhile, Sandalwood (ranked 318th) will meet ED White (ranked 80th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
