Ingomar senior and Middle Tennessee commit led Falcons to third straight state title.
Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Macie Phifer of
Ingomar (New Albany) is the 2024-25 Mississippi MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 5-foot-11 senior guard led the Falcons to a 32-2 record and their third straight state title.
For the season, Phifer averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while
shooting 62 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range.
In a 58-28 win over East Union (Blue Springs) in the Class 2A state championship game, Phifer scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
