Baseball Recap: Glenwood Victorious

Glenwood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the McCracken County Mustangs on Friday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since April 24, 2024.

Dylan Huff was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Quinten Hale looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

Huff wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joe Anderson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

McCracken County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Glenwood will square off against Oak Forest at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for McCracken County, they will challenge Freeburg at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
