The Trenton Tigers will take on the Crystal River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Trenton sitting on three straight wins and Crystal River on eight.
On Monday, Trenton was able to grind out a solid victory over Taylor County, taking the game 8-5.
MacKenzie Fisher was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Fisher was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Makenna Young was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Trenton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, while Crystal River put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Lecanto. The Pirates came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 5-0.
Like Trenton, Crystal River also got a great game from a two-way player: Violet Flynn. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Flynn has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Flynn wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Athena Childs, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Crystal River pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Trenton, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Trenton's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Crystal River, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Trenton continue to outrun the ball?
Trenton couldn't quite get it done against Crystal River when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 9-6. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
