Baseball Game Preview: Alfred-Almond Eagles vs. Addison Knights

Alfred-Almond is 2-8 against Addison since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eagles will square off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Alfred-Almond will be strutting in after a win while Addison will be coming in after a loss.

Alfred-Almond was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Jasper-Troupsburg on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 20-4 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Addison's offense. They came up short against Wellsboro on Tuesday, falling 17-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Alfred-Almond now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Addison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Alfred-Almond suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Addison when the teams last played back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
