Basketball Recap: Deer Park Deer vs. Dickinson Gators

After flying high against Clear Springs last Tuesday, Deer Park came back down to earth. The Deer Park Deer were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 55-54 to the Dickinson Gators. While losing is never fun, the Deer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Gators are ranked 105th).

Deer Park's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ally Marbury, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Marbury has posted since back in November of 2024.
