Softball Recap: Perry's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Perry walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jefferson Area Falcons a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Sophie Sivon's shutout, as she gave up just three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Perry's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Rupert, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Perry's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Jefferson Area, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-14.

Coming up, Perry will face off against Edgewood at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. Jefferson Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
