It's playoff time, and Giddings had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lampasas Badgers 6-4. This was a revenge game for the Buffaloes: when they faced off against the Badgers on Thursday, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Giddings saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Velasquez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Giddings has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10-2 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Lampasas, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Badgers beat Giddings by a score of 7-0 later that day.
