Baseball Recap: Stratton Comes Up Short

Stratton was the 12-1 winner over McClave when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals on Saturday. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Grady Steerman was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Stratton is 2-1 when Steerman posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-6 otherwise. Trevor Moore also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Stratton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for McClave, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cardinals beat Stratton by a score of 7-5 later that day.
