Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Hills' Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bloomfield Hills came out on top against University Liggett on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Black Hawks blew past the Knights 8-1. Winning may never get old, but the Black Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Tyler M made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Dominic P was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer C, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Bloomfield Hills' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-12. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for University Liggett, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10-1.

Coming up, Bloomfield Hills will challenge Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University Liggett, they will face off against Grosse Pointe South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
