Baseball Recap: Lodi Comes Up Short

Lodi came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Wallington Panthers. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Lodi saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maximillian Veloz, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Veloz is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 4-9-1 when he doesn't).

Lodi's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Wallington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Lodi will square off against Park Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wallington, they are taking a road trip to challenge New Milford at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
