Baseball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Claysburg-Kimmel and Homer-Center squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Claysburg-Kimmel had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 10-9. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Claysburg-Kimmel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Campagna, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The Bulldogs are 5-2 when Campagna posts one or more home runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Landon Douglas was another, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

Claysburg-Kimmel's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Homer-Center, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Claysburg-Kimmel nor Homer-Center have any future games scheduled.
