It's playoff time, and Pacific Ridge had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Otay Ranch Mustangs on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Firebirds as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

One reason for the win was Pacific Ridge's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-16.

Simone Hobbs paced Pacific Ridge's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hobbs got some help from Calista Lowery and her 34 assists. Hobbs also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Shelby Ezell, each putting up two.

Pacific Ridge's win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Otay Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 24-15.

Pacific Ridge has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Carlsbad on the 1st. Otay Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
