Soccer Game Preview: Rockbridge County vs. Turner Ashby

Rockbridge County hasn't had much luck against Turner Ashby recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will welcome the Knights at 7:00 p.m.

Rockbridge County is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Thursday. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Rockingham.

Meanwhile, Turner Ashby came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Dragons a 3-0 shutout. Turner Ashby might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

Solomon Kisembo and Mohammed Abdulkhalq scored all three of Turner Ashby's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Turner Ashby's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Rockbridge County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Rockbridge County suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Turner Ashby in their previous meeting back in April. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 4-1.
