Recap: Hazelwood Central Hawks vs. Orr Spartans
On Saturday, Hazelwood Central was able to grind out a solid win over Orr, taking the game 48-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hazelwood Central.
Orr's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nia Crawford, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Crawford has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Neshaun Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Hazelwood Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Orr, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Hazelwood Central and Lutheran will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Orr on the road again on Monday and play against Canton at 1:00 p.m. on January 15th. Canton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Orr in Illinois (Canton is ranked 59th, while Orr is ranked 307th).
