Basketball Game Preview: Gregory Gorillas vs. Winner Warriors

Gregory is 2-8 against Winner since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Gregory Gorillas will welcome the Winner Warriors at 7:45 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Gregory sitting on eight straight victories and Winner on three.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Gregory against Jones County as the squad secured a 66-24 win. The Gorillas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 28 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Winner didn't have too much trouble with Mt. Vernon/Plankinton on Friday as they won 60-42. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Titans are ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gregory's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.4 points. As for Winner, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
