Basketball Recap: Cactus Comes Up Short

Cactus was the 56-39 winner over Peoria when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Cactus Cobras fell 50-43 to the Peoria Panthers on Friday. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Cactus still got an impressive performance from Xavier Ledet, who posted 22 points along with eight boards and three steals. That was a full 51.2% of Cactus' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Jayden Browen was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.

Cactus' loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Peoria, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Cactus will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. Estrella Foothills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. Peoria has already played their next matchup, a 54-49 victory against Dysart on the 4th.
