Basketball Game Preview: Archimedes vs. Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy

After both having extra time off, Archimedes and Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Archimedes' defense has only allowed 24.4 points per game this season, so Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Two weeks ago, Archimedes made easy work of South Bronx and carried off a 37-14 victory. Given Archimedes' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while South Bronx is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Bathgate two weeks ago and fell 26-24. Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win made it two in a row for Archimedes and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Archimedes against Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 57-25 victory. Will Archimedes repeat their success, or does Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
