Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View dropped to 11-13-1 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 8-2 to the Clint Lions. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Lobos, who fell 2-0 when the teams last met back in April of 2025.

Esteban Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Mountain View: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-11-1 otherwise.

As for Clint, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games.

On Clint's side, Nomar Maldonado was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Maldonado has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Pacheco, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Mountain View had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
