Basketball Recap: Merrillville Comes Up Short

Merrillville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 74-37 loss at the hands of the Crown Point Bulldogs. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Merrillville's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Crown Point, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Merrillville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Munster at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Crown Point, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Griffith at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crown Point knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Griffith likes a good challenge.
