Football Recap: Nyack's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Nyack had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 27-20 victory over the Fox Lane Foxes on Friday. The Red Hawks pushed the score to 27-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Foxes cut but never quite recovered from.

Devin Bierfeldt was his usual excellent self, throwing for 288 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 96 yards and one score on only nine carries. Abdul Durosinmi was another key player, rushing for 105 yards and one touchdown.

Nyack didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dominick Moran, Connor McGrogan, and Julian Silverman picked up one apiece.

Nyack's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Fox Lane, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Nyack and Fox Lane could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Red Hawks (ranked 248th) will meet Rye (ranked eighth) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fox Lane will square off against Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (270 vs. 31).
