Baseball Game Preview: Randallstown Rams vs. Kenwood Bluebirds

The Randallstown Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Kenwood Bluebirds at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Randallstown is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Catonsville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 15-2 to the Comets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since March 22nd.

Randallstown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terrence Venable, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Venable has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, Kenwood came up short against Western Tech & Environmental Science on Thursday, falling 13-2.

Kenwood dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Randallstown, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Randallstown has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kenwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Randallstown's way against Kenwood in their previous matchup on April 1st, as Randallstown made off with a 15-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
