Softball Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding Tigers vs. Head-Royce Jayhawks

Lick-Wilmerding hasn't had much luck against Head-Royce recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will welcome the Jayhawks at 4:00 p.m. Lick-Wilmerding has given up an average of 14.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lick-Wilmerding is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They lost 16-4 to University.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Head-Royce and St. Joseph Notre Dame had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Jayhawks fell just short of the Pilots by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Jayhawks in their meetings with the Pilots: they've now lost four in a row.

Juno Yu spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Head-Royce saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayla Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Lick-Wilmerding's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Head-Royce, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
