Soccer Recap: Waccamaw vs. Stratford

Waccamaw proved they can win big on Friday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Stratford Knights. Even though Waccamaw got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Brody Nist was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Charlie Withington and Nist scored both of Waccamaw's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Waccamaw's record now sits at 15-4. As for Stratford, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waccamaw will face off against Dillon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dillon will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Waccamaw surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stratford, they will square off against Wando at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
