Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Patriots vs. Clovis Cougars

The Hoover Patriots will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Clovis Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hoover is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering West just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to the Wolfpack 49-45. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Clovis entered their matchup against Merced on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Clovis took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Merced. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

Clovis now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Hoover skirted past Clovis 62-59 in their previous meeting on December 11th. Will Hoover repeat their success, or does Clovis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
