Softball Recap: West Blocton Comes Up Short

If West Blocton was feeling good fresh off their 17-7 takedown of Hillcrest on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bibb County Choctaws on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Choctaws this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-2 loss back in April.

West Blocton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacey Register, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Lily Hagood also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

West Blocton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-13-2 record this season. As for Bibb County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-24.

Coming up, West Blocton will challenge Holt at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bibb County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
