It was a good run, but Knott County Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 35-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whitefield Academy Wildcats. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Noel Smith was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards for Whitefield Academy. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Gwynnie Franz was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Knott County Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Whitefield Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Knott County Central has already played their next contest, an 81-26 win against Jenkins on the 23rd. As for Whitefield Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-47 defeat against Crittenden County on the 24th.
