Volleyball Game Preview: Marquand-Zion Tigers vs. Leopold Wildcats

Marquand-Zion is 0-10 against Leopold since September of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. The match will give Marquand-Zion their first taste of in-conference action this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Marquand-Zion challenged Meadow Heights on Monday. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Panthers.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-1, 25-12, 25-6.

Leopold extended their home winning streak to seven games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Malia VanderMierden. The Wildcats blew past Woodland 3-0 on Tuesday for which the team can thank VanderMierden, who had ten digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The final score came out to 25-22, 29-27, 25-17.

Leopold's win bumped their record up to 23-4-2. As for Marquand-Zion, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
