Football Recap: Stony Point Comes Up Short

Stony Point played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Round Rock Westwood Warriors and fell 35-7. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Mason Troyer threw for 118 yards on six of 20 attempts. Aiden Loyden was his top target, picking up 81 receiving yards. On the ground, Tarrell Abercrumbia rushed for 32 yards.

Wade Allen was his usual excellent self, rushing for 229 yards and four TDs for Round Rock Westwood.

This is the second loss in a row for Stony Point and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Round Rock Westwood, their record now sits at 3-5.

Stony Point and Round Rock Westwood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Tigers will face off against Round Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (355 vs. 162). Meanwhile, Round Rock Westwood (ranked 317th) will meet Vandegrift (ranked 63rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
