Basketball Game Preview: Mullins Auctioneers vs. South Brunswick Cougars

The Mullins Auctioneers and the South Brunswick Cougars will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mullins has six straight wins, South Brunswick has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Mullins got the win against Lake City by a conclusive 64-39. The Auctioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, South Brunswick lost to Waccamaw on the road by a 72-57 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 382nd in North Carolina, while the Warriors are ranked 117th in South Carolina).

Mullins' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.5 points. As for South Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
