Football Recap: Fairfield's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Hamilton County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Fairfield, they should've done a better job of containing Michael Barner. The Mules strolled past the Foxes with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-25 thanks in part to Barner, who rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. He is becoming a predictor of Fairfield's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 5-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Robson, who picked up 119 receiving yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 68 yards.

Although Hamilton County took the loss, they still got scores from Kyle Williams, Braxton MIller, Austin Boone, and Chase Peyton.

The win made it two in a row for Fairfield and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points over those games. As for Hamilton County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Fairfield will face off against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central/Greenview at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hamilton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
