Softball Game Preview: Grand Saline Indians vs. Eustace Bulldogs

Grand Saline is a perfect 5-0 against Eustace since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Grand Saline Indians will be playing at home against the Eustace Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Grand Saline's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Eustace's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Grand Saline barely beat Edgewood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Grand Saline was the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Edgewood on Friday. Considering the Indians have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Eustace lost 15-1 to Malakoff on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eustace saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Page Miller, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Grand Saline has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. Eustace's loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Grand Saline took their win against Eustace in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Does Grand Saline have another victory up their sleeve, or will Eustace turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
