Softball Recap: Post Extends Winning Streak to Four

Post had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Seagraves Eagles as they made off with a 14-6 win. The Antelopes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.

Hannah Abraham was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Post let Hanna Krauser and Shaylee Pope run wild. Krauser scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Pope scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. What's more, Krauser posted two hits, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Amberly Garza, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Post's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Seagraves, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Post will face off against rival Sundown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Seagraves is set to square off against their familiar foe Tahoka at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
