Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Wildcats vs. Cape Henlopen Vikings

The Mountain View Wildcats will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Cape Henlopen Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Mountain View is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Colonial Forge on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Mountain View was outmatched by Colonial Forge and fell 59-31. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Eagles are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cape Henlopen, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Caesar Rodney 63-44 on Thursday. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

Mountain View now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Cape Henlopen, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
