Softball Recap: Xavier Find Success

Xavier won the last time they faced Little Chute and things went their way on Friday too. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Mustangs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Addison Hervey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Hervey was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elsa Dvoracek, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Xavier's record now sits at 2-0.

Xavier and Little Chute will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hawks will take on rival Seymour at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Little Chute is set to challenge their familiar foe Marinette at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
