Baseball Game Preview: Chatham Charter Knights vs. Cornerstone Charter Cardinals

The Chatham Charter Knights will head out to face off against the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Monday just wasn't the day for Chatham Charter's offense. They fell 3-0 to East Wake Academy on Monday. The Knights have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Southern Guilford.

Cornerstone Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases. Parker Daniels also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Cornerstone Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Chatham Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Chatham Charter couldn't quite get it done against Cornerstone Charter when the teams last played on March 7th as they fell 8-3. Can Chatham Charter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
