Bullitt Central is 0-3 against Collins since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. Bullitt Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Collins at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bullitt Central comes in on six and Collins on four.
Bullitt Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kentucky's top teams: Butler, who was ranked 17th at the time (Bullitt Central was ranked tenth). Bullitt Central's pitchers stepped up to hand Butler a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Jordan Powell and Henry Zimmerman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Powell struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Zimmerman tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Powell has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Powell went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Zimmerman scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Anderson Smith was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Coffman, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Bullitt Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Collins won against Scott County on Saturday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Collins put the hurt on Southern with a sharp 10-0 win. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven runs or more this season.
Nolan Faulkner and Quinten Wooten did most of the damage at the plate: Faulkner scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Wooten scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most runs Wooten has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Floden, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Bullitt Central pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Collins, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bullitt Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Collins struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bullitt Central couldn't quite finish off Collins when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will Bullitt Central have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
