Softball Recap: Alexandria Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Alexandria won the last time they faced Southside and things went their way on Friday too. The Trojans came out on top against the Sharks by a score of 6-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Amiyah Wilson was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Couvillon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Alexandria pushed their record up to 25-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southside, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10.

Alexandria and Southside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Trojans will face off against David Thibodaux at 4:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (10 vs. 72). Meanwhile, Southside (ranked 32nd) will meet Loreauville (ranked 124th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
