Baseball Recap: Grayslake Central Rams vs. Varsity Opponent
Grayslake Central had to kick off their season on the road on Sunday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Varsity Opponent 12-2.
Brady Carlson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits.
At the plate, Grayslake Central let Trevor Meathe and Beckham Stone run wild. Meathe scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Stone went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Stone has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Surowiec, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Coming up, Grayslake Central will challenge Celebration at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Varsity Opponent, they are taking a road trip to take on Rio Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
